De Palster 2016

The children of the 4e class primary and the 2nd class of nursery class proposed in the beginning of February the new theme Africa. Everybody was invited for the day of living like an African on February 12th.The children got the task to design a toy, with which the children in Africa would play, with no-value materials . But first they were looking forward to meet the team of 'Vleugels van Hoop'.

That day Vleugels van Hoop came to our school, an association who supports the development of people in Central Africa. Based on pictures, lots of material and very interesting information we learned more about their projects.
The children were very interested and raised a lot of questions. The organisers had so much material with them that it became a very interactive and instructive day. From the smallest pre-schoolers up to the pupils of the 6th class, everyone was fascinated.

That day the children could join a frugal meal with soup and bread. Most children joined this with pleasure. The yield of this lunch as well as the collected funds by selling scarves and hats on the Christmas market will be fully donated to the association Vleugels van Hoop and we hope in can help them in realising their projects.
